Each night when you look up to the night sky, you are witnessing the glory of God as described in Psalms 19:1-2, which says:
The heavens declare the glory of God;
And the firmament shows His handiwork.
Day unto day utters speech,
And night unto night reveals knowledge.
The glory of God however, is much more than a light show and more accessible than the billions of starts on show in the night sky. What does it look like, what does it sound like, and how can it be accessed? How can we engage with something that has such a depth of meaning and how can it influence and shape our lives as men?
Question 1.
In the book of The Acts of the Apostles, there are many examples of how, after being filled with the glory of God, these men of God spoke and acted as they had never before. Their boldness came form their desire to be filled with the Holy Spirit and do exploits for the Kingdom.
Are there areas of your life you have been trying to change, habits to break or mindsets to quash that are presenting as roadblocks to receiving this glorious power and ability from God?
If so then pray God would bring you to that place of Godly repentance so that His glory can influence the atmosphere around you, wherever you go and what ever you say and think.
Question 2.
Carefully read through each of the scriptures relating to each of the DOXA, Shekinah and Kabod glory of God. Is there anything in each of these categories that resonates with or challenges you? Do any of them challenge how you behave as a man?
Question 3.
Have you ever been in a place of worship where the glory of God filled that place so powerfully that there is no denying it was an impartation from heaven?
Reflect on the impact this moment had on your life and how it changed you.
Question 4.
Walking into any room, you can sense the presence of what has been in there before you. Have you ever walked into a room buckled at the knees or fell to the floor, being overcome by the atmosphere in that room?
What impact did this have on you? Did you witness any miracles or manifestations that provided undeniable truth of God’s glory being present?
Question 5.
Psalms 27:4 says “One thing I have desired of the LORD, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in His temple.”
Have you ever tasted the glory of God described in this article that has transformed the way you spend time with God? Do you value this time, in the secret place so much that you never want to leave it, to linger longer?
