Question 1.
The prophet Samuel (1 Samuel 10:6 NIV) describes an outworking of the anointing as this ‘The Spirit of the Lord will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them; and you will be changed into a different person.’ When the supernatural power of God is demonstrated in your life through the anointing, there can be no doubt that it changes you. The anointing of God has the ability to change you, your personality, behaviours, attitudes and your giftings.
Are there areas of your life you have been trying to change, habits to break or mindsets to quash?
Do you believe that the anointing from God can change these areas? If so then pray God would release His anointing into these areas of your life.
Question 2.
Carefully read through each of the scriptures relating to the anointing of the Priests, Prophets and Kings. Is there anything in each of these categories that resonates with or challenges you? Do any of them challenge how you behave as a man?
- The anointing of Priests: Exodus 28:41, 30:30, 40:15, Leviticus 8:12, 21:12, Numbers 3:3 and Psalms 133:2)

- The anointing of Kings: 1 Samuel 16:1, 3, 13, 2 Samuel 2:4, 7, 1 Kings 1:34, 1 Chronicles 11:3)
Question 3.
Have you ever received an outpouring of the anointing with oil, either smeared on your forehead or poured over you? Reflect on the impact this moment had on your life and how it changed you. Were those changes temporary or still part of you today?
Question 4.
Walking into any room, you can sense the presence of what has been in there before you. Have you ever walked into a room and been overcome by the sweetest smelling fragrance you have inhaled? What physical impact did this have on you, did your knees buckle, did you fall to your face?
Question 5.
Adding the anointing to bondage breaking faith is sometimes required to overcome stubborn strongholds. This anointing deals with our morals and character, allowing for a greater manifestation of the fruit of the Spirit. Galatians 5:22-23 outlines the fruit of the Spirit as being ‘love, peace, joy, patience, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things, there is no law.’
Which fruit is most prominent in your life? Which fruit is needed to grow to breakdown strongholds in your life?
